Aneta Pieróg-Sudoł was born in Poland. Proud Polish Orava highlander. She has been living in the United States since 2002. Art teacher, visual artist, photographer, and an active Polish-American community volunteer (Polish Bilingual Day, All of Polonia Reads to Kids, The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, Polish Pulaski Parade, etc.). She uses contemporary children literature and Eric Carle’s book illustrations (collages) as inspiration for her art classes and art events with children. She is a former art teacher in the public school system in Poland and private school system (K-8) in the US. She is the former wedding and other events photographer and Polish newspapers photojournalist.
Aneta studied at the Art Institute of the Pedagogical University in Cracow where she majored in photography and painting. She graduated with a Master’s degree in art education in 1999. Her artistic (oil painting) work focuses on still-life themes with attention to objects linked with history. Her photography focuses on land structures, architecture patterns, landscapes, and rhythms in nature.
Aneta participated in numerous group photo exhibitions in Poland and in the United States, as well as six individual photo exhibitions: the 2002 “Jablonka – Homes, Trees, Panoramas” at the Orava Ethnographic Park Museum in Poland, the 2001 “Colors of Orava” at the Orava Cultural Center Gallery in Poland, the 2013 “American Sites” at the Orava Cultural Center Gallery in Poland, the 2014 “Places” at Starbucks, Brooklyn, NY, the 2014 “Texture, Structure and Pattern” at The Skulski Art Gallery (The Polish Cultural Foundation), Clark, NJ, and the 2022 “Two Women – One Source of Power” at the Montclair Public Library, Montclair, NJ and one solo oil painting exhibition in her alma mother high school as a part of her diploma project.
Aneta has been a member of the Polish-American Photographic Club in New York since 2005. She is the owner of Rustic Square LLC – Rustic Square Art Studio (as an art teacher, teaching artist, photographer, arts & crafts entertainer, art portfolio instructor, party designer, and sculptor). Her curriculum utilizes the “Education through Movement” system, created by Dorota Dziamska (educator in Poland). Languages: Polish, English, Slovak.
