Fryderyk Dammont

One hundred and one year old Frederyk Dammont, though now retired from his profession of physicist-chemist, is still an avid amateur photographer. His specialty is art photography. Art photography, in contrast to catch-the-moment photo journalism, allows for the deliberate selection and meticulous composition of subject, color, and background eliminating the need for further image manipulation.
Dammont’s preferred subjects are nature and art in context. The results of his love for travel and photography, combined, are perfect for public presentations, which he does frequently, most of the time accompanied by the exhibition of prints. He also exhibits his work solo and in group shows.
The discussion of his work with knowledgeable and sophisticated viewers is one of the rewards of his efforts. All this activity keeps him happily busy year in and out. To his delight and pride, the Polish American Photography Club granted Dammont the status of Honor Member.
