Zygmunt Malinowski is a graduate of Parsons School of Design and New School of Social Research in New York. His individual exhibitions have been shown in US, Poland and Italy. He has documented the pilgrimages of Pope John Paul II to Poland, visits of Lech Walesa (Solidarity leader), Tadeusz Mazowiecki (Poland’s Prime Minister as well as Krzysztof Kieslowski (acclaimed Polish film director).
He has photographed all the demonstrations in support of Solidarity in New York City. Along with Piotr Chmielinski, Andrzej Pietowski and Marek Kaminski he participated in the National Geographic expedition to the source of the Amazon River and world’s deepest canyon, Colca in Peru. Malinowski was one of the artists showing his work during festival ‘New New Yorkers and Friends’ organized by American Embassy in Warsaw and ‘Polska Fotografia w Swiecie’ organized by Krystyna Lyczywek. His large format photographs were exhibited In European Solidarity Center, Warsaw, and Lavra/Ukraine. He is the author of album: ‘New York city of solidarity: New York demonstrations in support of Solidarity 1981-1982 and book contributor to: ‘Invisible Rope/Portraits of Czeslaw Milosz’. His work has been published in such periodicals as: World Literature Today, Slavic and East European Performance CUNY, Fotografia, Poznaj Swiat and National Geographic Traveler.
