“Only the photographs that are shown truly exist.”  Edward Madej

Honorary Member and Ambassador of the Polish American Photography Club. President of the Club from 2005 to 2023. Organizer of numerous photography exhibitions, including 9 Photographic Salons at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York, and over 150 presentations of photographs by outstanding Polish and American photographers, as well as dozens of photographic workshops. Author of many publications and interviews with distinguished photographers in Polish media. During his tenure, the Club was awarded the Bronze Medal for Merit to Culture “Gloria Artis” by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

“I treat photography solely as a fascinating hobby that allows me to better perceive the beauty of the world around us and inspires me to explore and capture it. That’s why the main theme of my photographs is nature. Photography provides me with the best possible relaxation through communion with nature and beauty. I am very reserved in calling photography an art and treating it as such. Photography itself is not art, but sometimes it can be art, although this is very difficult and happens extremely rarely. I advise everyone to try. For me, photography is more a form of play than artistic ambition. My paraphrase of the lyric of the song by polish satirist Jerzy Stuhr in the original language expresses it the best”, which I quote:

“Anyone can take photographs; some better, some worse. and it’s not about being an artist all the time.”
